Collection: César
César (1921–1998) is one of the major figures of Nouveau Réalisme. Known for his Compressions and Expansions , he developed from the 1960s onwards a radical sculptural work, based on the transformation of industrial materials.
Between technical mastery and an element of chance, his work questions materials, form, and manufacturing processes. César profoundly influenced contemporary sculpture and occupies a central place in the history of 20th-century art.
